Good Ideas

A hub page. Many of Andrew’s notes are fundamentally collections of good ideas — Open Problems, Frontiers, Advice for Young People, links upon links upon links. What connects them all?

Good ideas have a life of their own. This is Bret Victor’s insight from Inventing on Principle: “great ideas, in the form of art, stories, inventions, scientific theories… take on lives of their own, which give meaning to our lives.”

Andrew wants to:

• Surface good ideas
• Identify good ideas
• Connect good ideas together so they evolve and compound
• Share good ideas with people
• Reveal good ideas to people so they become aware of their affordances

This connects directly to My Principles: “discover your affordances” — good ideas help people be made aware of their affordances. Sharing good ideas IS the principle in action.
