A living reflection on whether I’m actually operating by My Principles right now.

Principle 1: “Discover your affordances”

Am I optimizing for people being aware of their affordances at scale? Honestly, no. Right now I’m only really optimizing for it in my immediate community — just the people around me. And even then, having a kid and being more distracted compared to early Fractal days means I’m doing less of it than I used to.

I want to devote myself more to helping people be made aware of their affordances, especially as cyborgs. Cyborgs should be aware of their affordances. That could be the 2026 version of my principle — a sub-principle for the current moment. Or: centaurs should be made aware of their affordances.

But how? How should cyborgs be made aware of their affordances? I should be publishing. There should be a podcast. A YouTube channel. All sorts of stuff.

Principle 2: Supporting biscuit-seekers

I want to do more of this in 2026. Risk-takers and adventurers should be empowered and supported — and I’m not doing enough of it.
